Children and young people (pre-school to 18)
Young people face many pressures in their young lives, from themselves, their peers, school and social media. They may find it more difficult to cope with their emotions and, if left untreated, they can lead to more serious issues such as panic attacks or self-harming.
I have extensive experience working with young people, from preschool to eighteen, with a variety of issues they may be facing. As a child psychologist, I ensure that I work at the appropriate developmental level for the child, using age appropriate language and techniques. This can include more creative approaches such as games, puzzles and art as well as psychotherapy and hypnotherapy.
These techniques are designed to help a child or young person express their emotions, feel more relaxed and more open to sharing their worries. I have helped many young people overcome issues such as bullying, school phobia, anxiety and behavioural problems.
I work in close collaboration with parents and carers and have clear protocols with regard to confidentiality and safeguarding. I have a DBS Certificate.
